Join and Support the AMS Robotics Program

Dear Families

We are thrilled to continue building the Aspen Middle School (AMS) Robotics Program! We believe that robotics not only fosters creativity and problem-solving skills but also cultivates teamwork and a passion for STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics). As such, we invite your children to become part of this exciting endeavor. Please complete this initial interest survey so we can be sure to keep you in the loop for the upcoming season. The theme is Submerged, and you can watch a short teaser video here.

Here are the key details about the program:

  1. After-School Practices: Our robotics practices occur after school hours, making it convenient for students to participate without conflicting with their regular classes. Practices are available four days a week to accommodate various schedules.
  2. Inclusive Participation: We offer multiple tiers of participation, ensuring that every student, regardless of their experience level or interests, can find a suitable place in our program. Whether your child is a novice or an experienced enthusiast, there's a role for them in our robotics teams.
  3. Flexible Attendance: Students have the flexibility to drop in for practices anytime they are available. We understand that students lead busy lives, so we've designed our program to be as accommodating as possible.
  4. Competitive Opportunities: Our teams have the opportunity to compete in Regional and State level tournaments right here in Colorado. This season we had 4 teams qualify for States! Moreover, successful teams may qualify for prestigious international events such as Worlds and other global invitational tournaments, like this year's Bolt Bears!

In addition to inviting students to join our program, we are also seeking your support to ensure its success. Your time volunteering helps us provide flexible practice times for students, and chaperones at competitions. Your contribution makes a significant difference in empowering our students to excel in robotics and STEM education. We look forward to seeing your student during the 2024-2025 school year! More information is in the attachment below, and will be coming throughout the summer, but we wanted to be on your radar as you begin planning extracurriculars and activities!

Warm regards
George Helfenstine (he/him)
