Mission & Vision
Aspen Middle School, an IB World School's Mission Statement
We nourish the mind, body, and spirit to empower lifelong learners who contribute to making the world a better place.
We achieve this through:
- The MIND: Rigorous International Baccalaureate Middle Years Program (IBMYP) classes.
- The BODY: Physical activity, health and wellness education, and time in nature.
- The SPIRIT: Connecting with our community, reflecting on one’s actions, and learning through service and outdoor education.
*Our school mission is built on the foundational Aspen Idea in a place where mind, body, and spirit flourish while embodying the Aspen School District Mission and International Baccalaureate Mission.
*We support the development of the 10 IB Learner Profile attributes in every student: Balanced, Caring, Communicator, Inquirer, Knowledgeable, Open-minded, Principled, Reflective, Risk-taker, and Thinker.
*We teach every student the 5 Approaches to Learning Skills: Self-management, Communication, Social, Research, and Thinking across all classes and learning experiences.
*Aspen Middle School was authorized as an IB Middle Years Program World School in June of 2023. IB World Schools share a common commitment to high-quality, challenging, international education. Only schools authorized by the IB Organization can offer any of its 4 academic programs: the Primary Years Program (PYP), Middle Years Program (MYP), Diploma Program (DP), or Career-related Program (CP).
